This weekend we were completely stumped as to where we wanted to go for an adventure... so we got out the Visit Angus app. We then decided to take a little adventure through to Edzell and visit the famous Shakkin Brig.
The bridge itself is over 100 years old. The bridge itself is made from mostly wood and steel wires when walked over there is a shakiness to it hence the name Shakkin Brig (Shaking Bridge). Storm herself was not a fan of the fact the bridge was shaking as she walked but she was trooper and got herself across.

To find the bridge itself you have to find Gassie Brae which is off the high street between the garage and the post office. Make sure to park on the high street as you won't get the car down Gassie Brae.
The walk itself is stunning. There is still a lot of tree damage from the Storm from way back but it doesn't take away from the beauty of the walk just turns some areas into an obstacle course. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes as this was our downfall. You will cross over a bridge made out of stones and after this the path is no longer flat and full of tree routes making the journey quite difficult. Storm loved this part of the path as she found her adventure feet very quickly.

Just take your time and adventure as far as you like. We stopped a few times to take in the scenery and just enjoy being outdoors. Storm enjoyed being able to take a drink straight from the river. She ventured in up to her ankles but being the diva poodle she is wouldn't dare go further.
Overall we would rate this walk:
